Marjorie Gaarsland

Marjorie (Marge) May Gaarsland, a longtime resident of Alexandria, passed away peacefully at Bethany Home on Friday June 4th 2010. Marge was born on December 21, 1916 in Minneapolis, the only child of loving parents. She had a life of good adventure, loved to travel to California and Las Vegas, owned a small Minneapolis restaurant for many years and in later years, could often be seen enjoying the scenery in her classic Buick. For the last 20 years or more, Marge lived in the Bethany Community, first at Bethal Manor and more recently at Bethany Home. She is survived by many dear friends who considered her family. A memorial service will be held at Bethany Chapel, at 1 p.m. Wednesday June 9th, and she will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria.
