Marjorie Anne (Yetzer) Marso, age 84, of Parkers Prairie, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, with her family by her side. Marge was born in Minneapolis on Sept. 29, l933, the second of nine children. She lived in Richfield, MN, and Minneapolis for the first thirty years of her life. She attended Assumption Grade School in Richfield and graduated from Bloomington (MN) High School in l95l. She worked as a legal secretary at Jerome V. Blatz Law Offices in Richfield for twelve years.
She married Gilbert John Marso on Nov. l6, l963, and moved to rural Sleepy Eye, MN. In l977, her family moved to rural Eagle Bend, where they farmed until 2003, when they moved to Parkers Prairie. Marge worked part-time at Parkers Prairie School, Young Peoples Place, and Eagle Valley School as a teacher's aide and child care provider from l983-l997. She also volunteered at Douglas County Hospital for several years.
Marge was an active member of St. William’s Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie since l977 and a member of the Christian Mothers Society since l965. She served on St. William’s Parish Council for several terms and was active on the funeral committee and ladies aid. She taught CCD for many years and was a member of the Board of Directors of St. Williams Living Center from 2004-2013.
She loved gardening, reading, traveling, and most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and she was adored by her nieces and nephews.
Marge is proceeded in death by her parents, Bruno and Laura (Milbert) Yetzer; her sister, Mary Paulson; her brothers, Rev. Bernard Yetzer, William Yetzer, James Yetzer, and Charles Yetzer; and her brothers-in-law, Fred Paulson and Jack Leffler. She is survived by her husband, Gilbert Marso; children, Joan Marso of Albany, NY, David (Krys) Marso of Battle Lake, MN, Dennis Marso of Alexandria, MN, and Beth Marso of Maple Grove, MN; her grandchildren, Adam, Dan, Emily, and Allison Marso; her sisters, Dorothy Leffler and Patricia (Gordon) Maenke; her brother, Walter Yetzer; her sisters-in-law, Sandra Yetzer and Jan Yetzer; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 26, 2018, at St. William's Catholic Church in Parkers Prairie. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at St. William's Cemetery.
