Mark Novotny

Mark Allen Novotny was born on May 16, 1961, in Morris, Minnesota the son of Edward and Mary Novotny. Mark attended school in Ashby, Minnesota and graduated from Alexandria in 1979. He liked to travel and worked various jobs in Minnesota, North Dakota and Utah. Mark enjoyed all sports as well as camping and as a young man he played a lot of golf. He also loved animals and always had a pet dog or cat. Mark shared the last nine years of his life with his true love, Angie Olson. Mark died on Monday, August 31, 2009 at his home. He is survived by parents: Edward and Mary of Alexandria; special love, Angie Olson of Alexandria; brothers Gary of Coon Rapids, MN, Claire (Marlene) Novotny of Dalton, MN, Wayne & Sheila Novotny of Cambridge, MN, Bryon (Jill) Novotny of Grand Forks, ND; sister, Anita McMullen (Don La Rivieres) of Alexandria. Mark was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Novotny Jr. in November 2007, sister-in law, Nancy Novotny in September 2007; brother-in-law, Gary McMullen in November 2002. Memorial service was held on Saturday, September 5, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. Don Reising officiating. Burial was at Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria.
