Marshall Nichols

Marshall Canfield. Nichols was born on March 26, 1941 to Paul and Alice (Gadbow) Nichols in Park Rapids, MN. Marshall grew up on his family farm near Hubbard, MN and graduated in 1959 from Park Rapids High School. He spent seven years in the National Guard and continued work in construction from 1961-1965. Marshall was united in marriage on September 17, 1965 to Kathleen Swaggert Marshall enjoyed working in broadcasting from 1965-2009. He was a member of the Rotary Club in since 1975, Community Club and the founder and first president of the Fosston JC?s. Marshall was a registered official for the State High School League and enjoyed his time refereeing for baseball, basketball, and volleyball from 1960-2009. Marshall C. Nichols died on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Alexandria, MN at the age of 72 years old. He is survived by wife of 48 years Kathleen; 4 children Diana, Anne (Gordy), John (Kimberly), Jim; 8 grandchildren Bryce, Andrew, Alice, Michael, Karolyn, Caitlyn, Ambriella and Kalian; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Paul Nichols and his mother Alice (Gadbow) Nichols. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Alexandria, MN. Arrangements were with Anderson Funeral Home.
