Mary Ann Csaji was born in Chicago, Illinois, one of three children, to Edward and Eleanor Drzonek. She attended grade school at St. Hyacinth and graduated from Holy Family High School, both in Chicago. After graduating from high school, Mary Ann started working for the local nursing school on a switchboard. She was married to Daniel Socki; to this union one daughter was born, Judy. Later in life, Mary Ann was married to Burton Greene; three sons were born, Jim, Jeff and Joey. Mary Ann's children cherish their memories that they spent with their mom and dad camping and spending time at their hobby farm riding horse. She, at one time, even took riding lessons, to better her skills. Mary Ann had a giving, generous heart and showed this by running a daycare, often having foster children living with her family.
She also enjoyed making hook rugs, crafts, drawing and making painted clothing for her grandkids. She could often be found at a local church bazaar or playing bingo with friends and family. She was a lover of animals. Especially her poodles, Mitzi and Sunny.
Mary Ann retired with her husband in Florida along with her mother, who was affectionately known to everyone as Tutu. Just three short months later Burt passed. But for the next twenty of her eighty-two years of life, she stayed in Florida with her mother who lived to be 100 years old! Mary Ann has lived in Chicago, IL, Des Plaines, IL, Alexandria, MN, Spring Grove, IL and Trevor, Wisconsin. She volunteered, while living in Florida, at a local nursing home and hospital. Some years later she met and married Joseph Csaji. They enjoyed traveling together and took trips whenever they could. She could be described as an intense, fun and feisty lady, whom will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
