Mary Lou Anderson

Mary Lou Anderson, the beloved wife of William J. "Rock" Anderson and proud mother of Carole, Nancy and Bill Anderson, peacefully passed away on July 27, 2024. Born on June 21, 1928, in Owatonna, MN, to her parents, Patrick and Margaret Fallon and grew up in St. Paul, MN.

After graduating from St. Joe's Academy and attended St. Catherine University for two years, she was united in marriage to William J. "Rock" Anderson on December 27, 1949, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, MN. Mary Lou lovingly raised her children in Alexandria and started working as an Administrative Assistant at District #206, retiring after nearly 20 years. She embraced retirement by dedicating her time to volunteering at Douglas County Hospital for 5 years, spreading kindness wherever she went.

In her free time, Mary Lou enjoyed playing bridge, sharing stories over coffee with loved ones, and tending to her beautiful flower gardens. Her gentle spirit and generous soul touched the lives of all who knew her. She cherished moments spent with loved ones and friends, creating treasured memories that will live forever. Mary Lou will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and unwavering love for her family.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Carole Anderson of Alexandria and Bill Anderson of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Jamie (Jeremy) Weflen of Tioga, ND and Adam (Staci) Lee of Shakopee; four great grandchildren, Kyndra Lee, Gavin Lee, Jacob Lee, and Asher Weflen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Anderson, and her daughter, Nancy Lee.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, beginning at 10 AM for one hour at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.

A Private Family Mass will follow the visitation.

Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Alzheimer’s Association.
