Mary Lou Moll was born on October 15, 1931 the daughter of Robert and Ida (Hagstrom) Danielson. She grew up in Alexandria and was very active in Alexandria High School. She was on the National Honor Society, involved in several musicals and a part of Beta Phi.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Vern Moll on September 28th, after their marriage the couple moved to Waseca where their son, Lane was born. The Moll family then moved to Minneapolis where their daughter, Lori was born. They later built a home in Golden Valley where the family lived for a number of years. While living in the cities Mary Lou worked for a dental office on Lake Street and was on staff at Sundseth Anderson Funeral Home for quite a few years where she sang for many funerals!
Upon retirement the couple moved back to Alexandria where Mary Lou was very involved in the community. She was a part of several organizations one of the most important was the Preservation of Natural Resources. In 1999 she was voted Woman of Excellence. She was a part of the Calvary Church choir and Chair of the Festival of Lakes.
Mary Lou died on September 16, 2024. She is survived by her son, Lane Moll and life partner, Lorraine Sandbeck; daughter, Lori Behrens and significant other, Gary Hourselt; five grandchildren: Calleigh, Lana, Lauren, Lea, Lara; brother Richard Danielson; sister, Carole Patrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; grandsons, Bobby & Luke; two brothers, five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 30, 2024 11:00 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with a visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery.
