Mary Lou Olson age 62 of Alexandria died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Douglas County Hospital. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
OBITUARY
Mary Lou was born on June 24, 1952 in Alexandria, MN the daughter of Carl and Frances (Pischke) Korkowski. She grew up on a farm near Millerville one of 17 brothers and sisters. She attended Brandon High School and graduated in 1971. She then moved to Arizona and met and married Bob O’Dale Green in 1977. Together they lived in Peoria AZ where they had a thriving upholstery business. In 1995 they moved to Brandon, MN and bought her mother’s house. In 1996 Bob passed away from cancer. In 1997 Mary Lou had a severe stroke and then moved to Windmill Ponds in Alexandria in 2002. She was always looking and waving to people she knew at Windmill pons.
Mary Lou met and married Keith Olson on July 23, 2005. Together they enjoyed taking in concerts, fishing, Art in Park, and going out to eat. Mary Lou was an avid bowler and loved professional sports. In August of 2014 Mary Lou moved to Prairie Senior Cottages with dementia and heart issues.
Mary Lou died on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria at the age of 62 years old. She is survived by her husband Keith Olson of Alexandria; sisters Joyce Navratil of El Cajon, CA, Jane (Ron) Kozel of Cottonwood, AZ, Judy Collett and JoAnn Reynolds both of Phoenix, AZ, Lynette (Arnold) Gelling of Clayton, WI, Margie (Frank) Nielsen of Tracy, MN, Carol (Jerry) Smith of Flagstaff, AZ, Anita (Wayne) Setter of Deer Park, WI, and Cindy (John) Haffner of rural Rose City, MN, brothers Leon (Rosemary) Korkowski of Ann Arbor, MI, Kenny (Georgette) Korkowski of Lino Lakes, MN, and Linus (Rose) Korkowski of Alexandria, MN; sister-in-law Shirley Korkowski of Parkers Prairie, MN; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob O’Dale Green and brothers Clem, Dale, Joe, and Wayne.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Frist Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Kari Van Wakeren officiating. Inurnment will be in Seven Dolor’s Catholic Church in Millerville, MN. Casket bearers were Linus Korkowski, Carol Smith, Heather Smith, Kayla Thoennes, Jenny Stenson, and Chris Mattson.
Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN.
