Mary Rose (Dickson) Philipczyk was born March 29th, 1932, at her Grandma Dickson’s home in Bellevue Township, MN to Thomas Willson and Phyllis Marie (Andermann) Dickson. She spent her childhood in Clover Township. She was united in marriage to Louis Julius Philipczyk on June 30th, 1949, in Pine County, MN.
Mary and Louie started their lives together in Hinckley, MN then moved to Minneapolis. From there they moved to Coon Rapids where they would raise their 6 kids and she would work at Leed’s Drugstore, The Cootie Company and LSI while also volunteering for Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, many church doings including Sunday School teacher at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. At 42, she earned her GED, and at 59 became a licensed forklift driver. After retirement, Louie moved up to Aurora, MN. There she became a lifetime member of the VFW Axillary, rolled bandages for soldiers and 3rd world countries, helped out kids at the Rainbow Connection and volunteered at and was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora.
Mary passed away on June 30th, 2017,... her and Louie’s Anniversary at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Julius Philipczyk, daughter Kathy Lee Haben, parents Tom and Phyllis Dickson, brother Willson Dickson, sister Patsy Lee Moore, 3 great grandbabies, Elijah, Max and Baby Ramsey, Sisters-in-law, Mary, Lucille, Delores, Ida, Brothers-in-law, Leonard, Walter, George, Edward, Julius, Father and Mother-in-law, Louis David and Minnie Philipczyk.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Linda Jean (Paul) Ramsey of Thief River Falls, Denise (Curt) Karger of Parkers Prairie; sons, Louis Thomas (Darla LaVigne) of Blaine, Dennis Michael (Valory Pladsen) of Zimmerman, and Kevin David (Nancy Bergstrom) of Big Lake; son-in-law, Dan Haben of Indiana; sixteen grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; sister, Gail (Mark) Myrvold of Finlayson, MN; brothers, Tom (Karen) Dickson Meadowlands, MN, and Robert (Judy) Dickson Lakewood, WA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at Epiphany in Coon Rapids, MN on July 14th, at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to. Inurnment will be next year on their anniversary at Morningside Memorial Gardens in Coon Rapids.
