Matthew Lepak

Matthew William Lepak was born on August 10, 1980 in Grand Rapids, MN the son of Denise Egan and Robert Lepak. He attended Marquette Catholic School until the 6th grade and then graduated from Virginia High School in 1999. As a child Matthew loved to mow the lawn with his grandpa Jim. He was raised alongside his cousins Jenny and Jackie, who were like sisters to him, even though they made him play "girl talk" for countless hours. Matthew also went on many special road trips with his mom. Once they explored every tourist attraction in Minnesota, they moved onto Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, and the Wisconsin Dells. Matthew also had a very memorable trip to Disney World with his Dad and step mom, Kathy.

Matthew moved to Alexandria after high school, and attended Alexandria Technical College receiving many degrees. He began to work at Alexandria Industries in 1999, where he was currently employed as a maintenance technician.

Matthew met Brittany Rosin in the fall of 2008 and they were united in marriage on October 8, 2011. Together they made their home in Alexandria. They made great memories by taking camping trips, watching Twins and Wild games and spending Saturday nights at the Depot for "Prime Rib". Matthew and Brittany welcomed their daughter Lucy LaVay on March 3, 2015. Matthew was very proud of his "Mini Me" and lovingly called her his "Little Potato". She was truly his pride and joy. He loved Lucy's sweet laugh when he would read stories, play peek a boo, or when he did a funny dance for her when he played one of his many records. Matt was able to care for Lucy during the week and cherished every minute he spent with her.
Matthew was a fabulous cook and prided himself on being able to make just about anything including grilling the perfect steak. He also took pride in his ability to fix just about anything and often helped friends and family with projects they needed help with. Matthew was a kind, loving, and loyal husband, father, son and friend to many. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

Matthew W. Lepak died on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his home. He is survived by his loving wife, Brittany and their daughter, Lucy of Alexandria; mother, Denise Egan of Apache Junction, AZ; father, Robert (Kathy) Lepak of Grand Rapids; grandparents, Jim and Gloria Egan; loving pet dogs, Ally and Pippa; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Nancy Olmscheid; paternal grandfather, Dennis Lepak; paternal great grandparents, William and Marion Jacobson.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:30PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM on Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Urn Bearers are Jake Hanson and Frank LaFrenz.
