Maureen Bruzik

Maureen Marie was born on September 18, 1941, in Osakis, Minnesota the daughter of Al and Rosella (Rutten) Stoetzel.  She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis, Minnesota.  She attended Osakis High School and graduated in 1959.

Maureen was united in marriage to Marvin Bruzik on May 8, 1962 at Immaculate Conception Church.  To this union three children were born.  The family lived in Sierra Vista, AZ, Browerville, Barnesville and Hastings, Minnesota.  During this time Maureen worked as a Dental and Office Assistant.  Later when her children were grown she did Child Care.  The couple retired to the Alexandria area.

She enjoyed the Holidays and making special meals for family.  She was a wonderful cook and baker.  She especially enjoyed making specialty cakes for birthdays and weddings.  Maureen also loved gardening, crafts, sewing, crocheting, traveling and time at their lake cabin on Lake Ida and retired on Lake Latoka for 19 years and then moved into The Pines Development in Alexandria.

Mrs. Bruzik died on Monday, January 22, 2018.  She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children: Mark (Donna) Bruzik, Michael (Noel) Bruzik, Mary (Joe) Steidl; grandchildren: Randy (Courtney), Mitch (Kate), Robby (Paige), and Katie (Brandon Johnson) Bruzik, Joey & Shayna Steidl, Jessie and Katie Roos; great grandchildren: Breck, Finley, Ella Bruzik.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Rosella & Al; brother, Leo.  Blessed be her memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Parish Prayer Service at 4:00 PM.  Visitation will continue on Friday, January 26th from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria.  Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
