Maurice Alvin Williams was born on March 30, 1930, in Strathcona, Minnesota the son of Walter and Clarys (Watson) Williams. He was confirmed in Ulen, MN in 1944 and graduated from High School in Wahpeton, ND in 1948. After graduation he attended North Dakota State School of Science.
Maurice served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1952 when he was honorably discharged. Upon his return he met Beverly Quamme and they were married on October 9, 1955 at Faith Lutheran Church in Dwight, North Dakota. After their marriage the couple lived in the Wahpeton area and then moved to Maple Grove where he worked as a Maintenance Engineer for North Memorial Hospital. In 1990 the couple retired to Alexandria.
During retirement he volunteered at Caring & Sharing, Habitat for Humanity, helped at Calvary, and he and Beverly volunteered at the hospital. He also enjoyed fishing, playing games, cards and spending time with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
Maurice died suddenly on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children: Warren (Joannie), Randy (Colleen), Wendy (Vaughan), Dawn; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brother, Robert (Diane), sister, Marian Bolmeier; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with visitation one hour prior. Honorary Pallbearers were all that called him friend.
