Mavis Beyer was born September 16, 1934 in Appleton, MN, the daughter of Ed and Amanda (Brusten) Beyer. She grew up in Elbow Lake where she attended school.
On December 6, 1950, Mavis married Duane Olson at Elbow Lake, MN. The couple made their home on the family farm. The family also lived in the Milan and Willmar areas.
The couple later moved to Alexandria. In 1971 they began the Olson Mobile Home Park. Mavis helped run the park for many years.
Mavis devoted her life to her family. She was blessed with seven boys whom she raised, cared for and loved. She was very proud of her children and her grandchildren. Being a mother was her life and she was the best mother the Olson boys could have.
Mavis died October 29, 2014 at the age of eighty years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane Olson; an infant son and son, Larry Olson. Mavis is survived by sons, Garry of Alexandria; Terry (Kim). of North East, MD, Keith of Alexandria, Robert (Heidi) of Elbow Lake, MN, Randy of Alexandria and Corey (Julie) of Lakeville, MN; and five grandchildren, Joshua (Lydia) Olson, Casey Olson, Randin (Crystal) Olson, Blaine (Tony) Pedri and Jordan Olson; brother, Ed Beyer of Hillsboro, ND; and sister, Sandra Seekon of Lester Prairie, MN.
A funeral service was held November 1, 2014 at First Lutheran Church of Alexandria. Interment followed in Pelican Lake Cemetery at Ashby.
