Maynard Gulbranson

July 28, 1941 — December 7, 2014

Maynard Lloyd Gulbranson was born on July 28, 1941, the son of Vera (Willander) and Milo Gulbranson in Starbuck, Minnesota. The family moved to Garfield when Maynard was a young boy. He attended Central High School and graduated in 1958. After graduation he attended Moorhead State College in the Accounting program from September of 1958 – December of 1959. He transferred to Alexandria Technical College for Customized Training in Welding and Practical Energy Management.
Maynard served his country in the United States Navy from 1960-1967 and was in the 34th Infantry Division with the National Guard – Red Bulls. On June 4, 1963, Maynard was united in marriage to Ruth Navratil and to this union they were blessed with four children. He was employed by 3M for 32 years before retiring. On December 17, 2011 Maynard married Charlotte Haberer.
Maynard was a member of the VFW & American Legion, VVA, Patriot Guard, Harley Owners Group. He also enjoyed Muzzle Loading and Hunting.
Maynard died on Sunday, December 7, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Lohmeyer); mother, Vera Hjelm of Great Falls, Montana; children: Brent of Rapid City, SD, Steve of Cedar Falls, IA, Debbie of Pillager, MN, Chad (Sherry) of Osakis, MN; grandchildren: Briana, Kayla, Jordan, Connor, Aidan Gulbranson; step children: Robert, James (Shari), David (Lori), Eric Haberer and Karlene (Mark) Doll; step grandchildren: Hayley (Travis) Epema, Josh, Anika, Courtney, and Marquell Haberer, Hunter, Kaylana, and Kimberly Doll; sister, Betty White; half brother, Bradley Hjelm.
He was preceded in death by his father, Milo; step mother, Eleanor.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2014, 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Church in Henning, MN. Burial will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
