Maynard Roth

Maynard John Roth was bom on November 8, 1934 to John and Florence (Beulke) Roth of Carlos, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carlos, Minnesota, attended elementary school at Carlos Public School and graduated from Alexandria High School.

Maynard served in the army from 1955-1956, stationed in Korea right after the war. In 1958 due to his father’s death, he took over the family farm raising pigs, milking cows and growing corn, oats and alfalfa. He loved farming, setting up a milk parlor and farrowing pigs for market. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and surveying his crops on his motor bike.  Summer highlights were visits from his brother’s family where many wonderful memories were made through the time spent with his great nieces & nephews. His mother continued to live with him on the farm until she went to live in an assisted living center.

In 2005 Maynard left his childhood home to live in the Center for Human Environment in Mahnomen, Minnesota. He loved the wide-open spaces it provided where he enjoyed all the God’s wonderful creation.

On June 27th Maynard suffered a stroke & brain hemorrhage & was admitted to Essentia Health Hospital in Fargo, ND. He entered Bethany Nursing Home in Alexandria under hospice care on July 9th.  On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Maynard fell asleep in the arms of Jesus at the age of eighty-five years.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother: James Roth (Carlyn) of Sterling Heights, Michigan, two nieces- Renee (Matthew) Slottke & Rhea Roth, two great nephews, three great nieces and many cousins.   Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Carlos. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos.
