Megan Elizabeth Movold was born on May 8, 1973, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Mark and Margaret (Seeger) Movold. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Megan graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1991 and was co-valedictorian of her class. She attended St. Olaf College where she earned Bachelor's Degrees in music and economics. She later earned a Master's Degree in finance from St. Thomas.
Megan worked for Medtronic, Piper Jaffray and the last nine years she worked at U.S. Bank, Minneapolis. Megan currently was U.S. Bank's Finance Director for Wealth Management and Securities Services. Megan had been living in Minnetonka for a number of years and was a member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis
As a child Megan particularly enjoyed when cousins Anne and Paul would spend part of their summers at the lake. Megan loved music and was involved in state piano competitions all through school, as well as singing in the St. Olaf Choir. Singing in the choir was one of the highlights of her college experience. Megan was a people person. She took time for people building strong relationships with both family and friends. They called her caring and sweet. Megan developed a special relationship with the staff and residents where her mother has been living in Minneapolis. Megan had a very special relationship with her mother and her Grandma Esther. She also cherished her role as a Godmother to Nathan, Jack and Olaf.
Megan died on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at her home in Minnetonka at the age of 43. She is survived by her loving mother, Margaret of Minneapolis, formerly of Alexandria; an aunt, Naomi Seeger of Plymouth; and several cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Mark Movold; brother, Erik Movold; several aunts and uncles; a cousin; and her beloved dog, Ruby.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Greg Billberg officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Honorary Urn Bearers are all of Megan's wonderful friend who are too numerous to name.
