Harlen Rudolph was born on June 21, 1922, in Millerville Township, the son of Rudolph and Hattie (Wussow) Meissner. He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millerville Township. Harlen attended District #56 Country School through the 8th grade. On June 5, 1946, Harlen was united in marriage to Lorraine Klein at Trinity Lutheran. After their marriage the couple farmed on the family farm in Millerville Township. Besides farming Harlen also enjoyed making sausage in his basement ?The Butcher Shop?. He retired from farming in the mid 1970?s but still would go back to make sure everything was being done correctly. Harlen was also very involved in his community. He was one of the first members of the Millerville Sportsmen, on the Evansville School Board, REA Board, Urbank Lions, Brandon Co-Op, Secretary and Treasurer of Trinity Church, Clerk of Millerville Township, and Leaf Valley Senior Citizens. The Meissners enjoyed traveling throughout the United States ? some of their favorite places were Montana, Texas and California. He loved to hunt, fish, and play cards with family and friends. His greatest enjoyment was his children grandchildren and great grandchildren. Harlen died on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; four sons: Dennis (Rose) of Evansville, Glenn (Carole) of Parkers Prairie, Harold (Carol) of Brandon, Jim (Lori) of Brandon; sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers: Clinton of Parkers Prairie, Warren (Alice) of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Norma Odens; parents, one brother, one sister Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brandon with Rev. Ed Borchardt officiating. Pallbearers were his grandsons: Jason, Chris, Darren, Shawn, Derek, Tyson, Ryan, Brent. Honorary Pallbearers were the rest of his grandchildren, Kyle, Jessica, Travis, Angie Debilzen, Craig, Jenna, Nate and Josh. Burial was at the Trinity Cemetery in Millerville Township.
