Michael McGinn

Michael Robert McGinn, 55, of Alexandria passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Michael was born on May 10, 1957, in Minneapolis and was adopted by Edward and Janice McGinn of Minneapolis. In 1964, Mike?s family moved to Alexandria, MN where he attended Jefferson High School. Michael was united in marriage to Kathleen Genty on October 27, 1984. To this union two children were born: Jacob Michael and Rachel Joan. Mike worked for Ellingson Plumbing and Heating as a HVAC installer, up until his diagnosis in October of 2011. His passions included hunting, fishing, spending time out at the lake and spending time with his family. Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; children: Jake (Theresa) McGinn, Rachel McGinn; grandchildren: Colie & Seth; brother, John McGinn; many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents: Edward & Janice McGinn; father-in-law Richard Genty. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, June 30, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church. Honorary Pallbearers were Steve Solum, Bruce Lein, John Genty, Vic Benzinger, Carl Henning, Ed Kephart, Norb Lenarz. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
