Michael Paul Snelson was born on August 29, 2007 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria to Robert Michael Snelson and Tina Louise Schuler. He was born two months early and weighed 4 lbs, 4 oz and 17 � inches long. Michael was named after his Dad and Grandpa. His first 29 days were spent in the hospital where he captured the hearts of his family, friends, and nurses. Michael continued to gain strength and had just rolled over last weekend. He also started to coo and become very playful. Michael was a very smiley and happy baby and knew when people where in the room, especially his mother. His favorite color was red as he was drawn to it and enjoyed being in his swing and playing pick-a-boo. Michael also was attached to his sister, Mae and enjoyed listening to stories that where getting read to her. In Michael?s short life he put up a great fight and accomplished a lot. Most importantly he touched the hearts of many and will be in their hearts and memories forever. Michael died on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at his home at the age of 5 months and 1 day. He is survived by his parents, Robert Snelson and Tina Schuler of Alexandria; sister, Mae Schuler; grandparents, Cynthia Schuler of Alexandria and Paul Schuler of Aurora, CO; great-grandfather, Kenneth Anderson of Cavalier, ND; aunts, Danielle Schuler of Alexandria, and Dawn Erickson and finance, Larry Dailey whom are also Michael?s Godparents; uncles, Adam Schuler of Alexandria, Eric Schuler of Aiea, HI, Roger (Anita) Saathoff of Alexandria and Daryl (Shirley) Saathoff of Alexandria; and many cousins. Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Mary Snelson; and great-grandparents, Alice Anderson, Edward and Violet Schuler. A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend John Peshek officiating. Music was provided by organist, Randy Morken. Interment was held in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Cory Snelson, Travis Erickson, Adam Schuler, and Danielle Schuler. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
