Michelle Kay Miller ,“Ma Miller” passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Douglas County Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. A “Sunday Funday” Celebration of Her Life will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2017 from Noon to 4:00 PM at Diamond Jim’s in Nelson. Michelle Kay Miller was born on October 2, 1962 in Farmington, Minnesota. She had one son, Travis, and a daughter, Brittney. Michelle loved to spend time with her grandson, Cooper.

In 2000, Michelle purchased Diamond Jim’s in Nelson. Her fun loving giving personality and strong work ethic made being a small business owner an adventure. She enjoyed all forms of music and casino trips with her significant other, Pat. When she was not busy working, she was always willing to visit with family or friends. Michelle’s free spirit and big heart will be greatly missed by her family, relatives, friends and many customers.

Michelle passed away after a short battle with cancer on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the Douglas County Hospital, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her father, Dick Figura and her grandparents. She is survived by her mom, Karen (John) Woolery; Significant other, Pat Dunn; son, Travis (Hillary) Figura; daughter, Brittney (Kody Karlson) Miller; grandson, Cooper Karlson; sisters, Denise (Mitch Linder) Figura and Sherry (Brian) Shanahan; brother, Shane; and nephews, Brandon and Nolan Shanahan.

A Celebration of Life will take place on “Sunday Funday” September 24, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Diamond Jim’s in Nelson.

A second Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the American Legion #65 in Rosemount, MN from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM.
