Mildred L. Miller was born on September 5, 1920, at home in Kintire Township, MN, to Ray and Martha (Carlson) Roxberg. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belview. She attended District 28 East Country School and graduated from Belview High School. She attended the Minneapolis School of Business and worked as a secretary in Minneapolis and Redwood Falls. Later in life she worked as a Nurses Aid at Parkview Home in Belview. On March 7, 1945, she was united in marriage to Raymond Miller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belview. They made their home on a farm southwest of Belview for five years before moving to a farm south of Delhi where they lived for 37 years. They moved to Lade Ida near Alexandria in 1987. Millie was active in church life in Immanuel Lutheran in Belview and at Calvary Lutheran in Alexandria. She served faithfully in Sunday School and the Ladies Aid in Belview and was especially fond of her friends in Priscilla Circle at Calvary Lutheran. Both Millie and Raymond enjoyed farming and living close to the land. Side by side on the farm, they grew much of their food, canned many fruits and vegetables, and shared the abundant produce with others. At Lake Ida she was Raymond?s right hand, helping him grow beautiful geraniums and begonias. Their love for each other and Millie?s dedication to his care allowed them to live independently at Lake Ida for many years. Millie died on April 21, 2010 at Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria. She is survived by her son Larry (Barbara) of Lakeville and daughter Linda (Richard) Seime of Rochester; grandchildren Jennifer Miller, Laura (Manny) Peterson, Anna and Erik Seime, Todd and David Bruggeman; great grandson Sam Peterson; brother-in-law Roger Miller of Mankato and sister-in-law Pauline of Hopkins; many nieces and nephews, wonderful neighbors and friends. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents, sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Bud Smith, sister and brother-in-law Aleda and Art Larson, brother and sister-in-law Marvin and Gert Roxberg. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Mark Astrup officiating. Becky Worley played the organ. Rick Seime and Todd Bruggeman gave eulogies. A private family inurnment will take place at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Belview, MN.
