Mildred Tesch

January 25, 1922 — November 2, 2009

Mildred was born on January 25, 1922, in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of August & Mary (Mueller) Tesch. She attended school in St. Paul and later on moved to Parkers Prairie to help her grandma. Mildred was united in marriage to Arnold Tesch on June 15, 1939, in Sisseton, South Dakota. To this union six children were born. The Tesch family farmed in the Parkers Prairie area until 1957 when they moved to Alexandria. While living in Alexandria Mildred worked at various jobs which included being a waitress at Hillside Restaurant, Knutson Grocery, Douglas County Hospital, Garden Center, Tubby?s Bakery, Dairy Queen South, Coast to Coast, owned Candle Glow Gift Shop on 6th & Broadway, Hallmark, Dollar Store and at 85 retired from Patti Cakes. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Mildred loved Word Find Books, and was known for her wonderful cookies and brownies. Mildred died on Monday, November 2, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by six children: Nancy Ost of Leaf Valley, Mary Ann Schlosser of Alexandria, John & wife, Lillie of Barrett, Tom & wife, Ruth of Maple Grove, Cathy Ley & Dale Beach of Alexandria, Mark of Alexandria; fifteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren one brother, Donald Tesch of St. Paul; sister, Delores Schak of St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; parents, five brothers: Elmer, Ervin, Howard, Harold and Raymond; sisters: Ella & Elsie; son-in-law: Donovan; grandson-in-law: Michael Curran.
