Mildred Tilleskjor

Mildred ?Mickey? Jean (Mickelson) Tilleskjor was born on September 27, 1925, to Ardell and C. Al Michaelson being the oldest daughter followed by Betty and Karen. She was born and raised in Alexandria, Minnesota where she spent most of her early years enjoying her passion for music. She had voice, piano, and violin lessons as a child. She was an accomplished musician playing at church and enjoyed playing piano duets with her sisters and cousin, Ruth Peterson. On August 15, 1946, she married Gerald ?Jerry? Tilleskjor. They were blessed with two boys: Larry and Steven. With her business training she worked in Duluth, Minnesota and White Mart in Alexandria. Mickey was known to her grandchildren for her cooking and serving big family meals. She was an excellent hostess. She always remembered your birthday with a card. She also loved to travel with her friends, meet for coffee and shop. She valued the local church body and was a charter member a Grace Baptist Church in Alexandria. Mickey passed away on November 18, 2013, at the age of 88. She has joined her loved ones in heaven: husband, Jerry; son, Larry; and his parents. She is survived by her son, Steven (Ann Marie) Tilleskjor of Alexandria; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Tilleskjor of Conroe, TX; grandchildren: Stephanie Laliberte, Richelle (Eric) Fraser, Jaclyn (Christopher) Steep, Jayson (Amy) Tilleskjor, Jeremy Tilleskjor; eight great grandchildren, sisters: Betty (Erwin) McWilliams and Karen Gadow. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Alexandria. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery.
