Mitchell Jay Brazel was born on August 23, 1984, in Alexandria, Minnesota, the first born child to Bret and Karen (Telander) Brazel. Mitchell graduated from Jefferson High School. After high school he started training and working as a technician. He worked for Douglas Machine the last ten years as a finisher. He used his meticulous nature as a finisher in the assembly area making sure every machine that left the plant was in perfect working order.
As a child, Mitchell was that chatty happy kid that was always inquisitive and wanted to learn new things. He was a confident man with a good soul. He held great pride in himself, his family and his work, and he found joy in other’s success. If asked, he would tell you that he was an expert musky fisherman which he was. He used this passion and talent to help others learn the sport and find success by being a guide to them. He loved to hunt and fish anything and everything. Mitchell married Kimberly Schutz on April 9, 2011, at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. This date was picked carefully as it did not interfere with any of the hunting or fishing seasons. God chose Kimberly to be his mate because she had passion for the same things as Mitchell, they found solace in nature. When Mitchell was not working or fishing, he and Kim would work on house projects, slowly converting the old farm house that she wanted into their home. Mitchell was his own man, all of his attributes will be dearly missed by his wife, family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly; parents, Bret and Karen Brazel; sister, Meghan (Bryant) Black and niece, Jordie Bea; brother, Brett (Kathleen) Brazel; grandparents, Dick (Sandy) Telander; Aunts and Uncles, Mark (Beth) Telander, Kaye (John) Buck, Bob Brazel; mother and father -in-law, John and Louise Schutz; sister-in-law’s, Stephanie (Andrew) Ulwelling, Christine (Matt Holland) Schutz; many cousins and friends; cat, Molly and beloved black lab, Buck.
