OBITUARY

Muriel Fay Karrow, the daughter of Leo and Pearl (Hesse) Miller, was born on November 20, 1936 in Sauk Centre, MN. Muriel lived in Sauk Centre with her parents, two brothers and three sisters. While attending high school she met Earl Eblen. They were united in marriage on July 17, 1954. Eight children were blessed to this union Jean, Betty, Karen, Robert, Donald, Katherine, Dean and Fay. Muriel raised her family in Forada before moving to Westport. She cooked, cleaned, baked and helped Earl on the farm with milking chores and keeping the books for Eblen Construction. She tended a large garden of many different vegetables and enjoyed canning.

Muriel’s children fondly remember her baked goods and large home cooked meals. Muriel enjoyed cooking for large groups of people. Every holiday her entire family gathered around the table for a meal and good conversation. As her children were growing up, Muriel worked at numerous restaurants in the surrounding towns. She also worked for a short time at the bakery in Glenwood, the Douglas County Hospital Gift Shop and at WASP.

Earl died in 1981 and several years later Muriel met Harvey Karrow. They were united in marriage on June 11, 1987. Together they spent time dancing and visiting with friends and family. Muriel’s grandchildren have fond memories of learning how to polka and waltz with their grandparents. Muriel’s joy in her life was her family. She loved making everyone she met feel comfortable, loved and always fed. Her welcoming spirit with a pot of coffee, ready to be poured, will forever be in the memories of the family and friends she loved.
