Nancy Wark

Nancy Jane Wark was born on October 14, 1944 in San Diego, CA, the first of two children to Glen and Esther (Pittillo) Cardo.  She attended Alice Birney Elementary, Roosevelt Junior High and San Diego High School.  Nancy was united in marriage to James Wark on July 3, 1979 and made their home in San Diego, CA.  She retired from San Diego Reality as the office manager and then moved to Alexandria in 2005.

Nancy enjoyed reading, sewing, fishing, and restoring antique Ford tractors.  Her true passion was painting and picture taking.  Nancy took pictures of nature for inspiration in her many paintings and artwork.  She looked forward to spending time at Studio 7 and with her friends at the Brush and Palette club.  Nancy could usually be found at the Brass Lantern for breakfast or Doolittles for lunch.  Spending time with family and friends was always a favorite pastime for Nancy. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Nancy J. Wark died on Friday, November 15, 2019 in Alexandria at the age of 75 years old.  She is survived by her son, Allan (Kelly) Lenz II of Spring Valley, WI; daughters, Paula (Chad) Becker of Browerville and Sandra Lenz of St. Cloud; 12 grandchildren, Darin (Rachel) Lenz, Shaun (Hannah) Lenz, Jay Lenz, Kelly Andreasen, Jessica Olson, Jacob (Saundra) Larson, Nathan Becker, Nicholas Becker, Noah Becker, Nye Becker, Janessa (Steve) Hetland and Shawnee (Justin) Hetland; and 19 great grandchildren.  She also survived by her Wark family; Jeff Wark, Bruce Wark, Barb (John) Hautla, Kathy (Karl Zimmerman) Davis, Joyce Olson, Ann Wark, Renee Wark, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, James Wark; parents, Glen (Esther) Cardo; brother Stanley Cardo; father and mother-in-law, Wallace and Viola Wark; and brothers-in-law, Ron Wark, Alan Wark, Richard Wark, Bruce Olson; and sister-in-law Pat Ellwanger.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 11 AM at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria.  A visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery near Almora, MN.
