Nicole Getz

Nicole M. Getz Nicole Marie Getz was born in Alexandria, Minnesota, on March 31, 1984, the daughter of Jerome and Janet (Hausken) Getz. At birth Nicole weighed 2 pounds 13 ounces and was immediately brought to Children?s Hospital in Minneapolis. Seven weeks later she left the hospital for home weighing 4 pounds 13 ounces. She was baptized and confirmed at the Calvary Lutheran Church and very much enjoyed the youth groups at Calvary while growing up. Nicole had the opportunity to attend the ELCA National Youth Group gathering and enjoyed summer mission trips. During her high school years Nicole participated in JO volleyball, softball, and enjoyed outdoor activities. Nicole graduated from Jefferson High School in 2002 and then enrolled at North Dakota State University where she majored in University Studies and graduated in 2008. During her time at NDSU she was a dormitory Resident Assistant and also did peer mentoring. She worked at the Corral during her college years but since college graduation she has been employed at Bremer Banks in Alexandria. Nicole will be remembered as a fun loving young woman ,who enjoyed country music, four-wheeling, boating, traveling, and loved going to Moondance Jam each summer. She also enjoyed knitting and made many baby caps that were donated to young mothers. Nicole died on Saturday, May 21, 2011, however, because of her choice as an organ donor, she will live on through the donation of many organs through LifeSource. Nicole is survived by her parents, Jerome and Janet Getz of Alexandria, sister Naomi Getz of Alexandria, boyfriend Travis Kluver of Alexandria, grandmother LaJune Hausken of Alexandria, cousins Phillip (Deena) Callahan, Rodney Callahan, Doug (Robin) Hausken, Mark Hausken, Stevie Hausken, Kayla Hausken and Godparents _________. She was preceded in death by grandparents Don and Lorraine Getz, and Art Hausken, uncles Rick Hausken, and James Getz, aunt Joyce Hausken, and cousin Deena Marie Hert. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 from the Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Minnesota, with Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by Becky Worley and Gary Mattson. Interment was in the Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria with Joey Berg, Dallas Blair, Katy Spoden, Travis Kluver, and __________serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Katie Krueger, Michael Harberts, Tonya Prescott, Amber Bauer, Anna Nettestad, Ole Nettestad, Rachel Mattson and ?Vickie?s Crew?.
