NORMAN R. WEST Norman Russell West was born on May 9, 1946 in Minneapolis, MN the son of Russell and Leana (Binger) West. He lived in Isanti and Minneapolis until 1951 when his family moved to Phoenix, AZ. In 1958 they moved back to Isanti, MN where Norman graduated from Cambridge High School in 1964. He married Norma Estlund and moved to Osseo, MN in 1966. Together they had two children Okho and Matthew. After Norman?s divorce he married Virginia McBride. Norman owned a barbershop on Main Street in Osseo for a short time. He then became a Business Entrepreneur by starting new businesses including an Armored Car Company and a Surplus Marketing Company. He then moved to Parkers Prairie and began working for Northern Food and Dairy as their Project Manager. He lived in Parkers Prairie until he moved to Knute Nelson in March of 2008. Norman loved to go hunting with his buddies in Wyoming, Alaska, and Canada. He also enjoyed gardening especially raising flowers and vegetables. Norman R. West died on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria at the age of 62. He is survived by his son Matthew West of Alexandria; daughter Okho Bohm-Hagedorn and husband Jim of Wisconsin; grandchildren Elena and Griffin both of Wisconsin; sisters Mary Jane Kunza of Minneapolis, MN; Linda (David) Foty of Florida; friend Dennis Anderson of Vinning, MN; nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Virginia West. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday October 25, 2008 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria with the Reverend Jim Oakland officiating. Ellie Leohner provided music for the service. Dennis Anderson and Brad Lake gave eulogies.
