Orlan “Pat” Brechbiel was born on October 12, 1926, in Brook Park, Pine County, Minnesota the son of William and Ida (Rose) Brechbiel. He served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1955.
Pat was united in marriage to Marie Beulke on October 28, 1956 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Carlos. The couple made their home in Carlos and he worked for Hubbard Milling until 1974 and farmed on the side. After retiring from the Mill Pat farmed full time which was his true passion.
He enjoyed hunting and tinkering with machines. Pat was very proud of his grandchildren.
Pat died on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. He is survived by his children: Darwin (Darcy) Brechbiel, Darla (Tony) Neville; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Neville, Joshua (Chile) Brechbiel, Jacob, Jessica (fiance’, Eric Jones); brother, Wesley “Pee Wee” (Opal) Brechbiel, Bernelda “Tootie” (Norman) Lerbs; brother & sister in laws: Ralph Beulke, Delmer Jantzen, Gladys (Rodel) Eberle; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie in 2002; parents, brother, Norval “Bud”, sister, SaVera “Dolly”.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos. Burial was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
