Orlyn “Ole” H. Dosdall age 91 of Alexandria formerly of rural Starbuck and Cyrus died on Friday, July 24, 2015 at Prairie Senior Cottages. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
OBITUARY
Orlyn (Ole) Dosdall, was born August 26, 1923 to Henry and Mayme (Syverson) Dosdall in Starbuck, MN. Orlyn was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Starbuck, MN by Reverend G.O. Forde. He attended country school through the eighth grade at District 11 in Pope County
After farming several years in the Cyrus/Starbuck area he moved to Great Falls, Montana, where he worked at Anaconda Copper Co. He was there for 24 years. When the plant closed in 1980 he retired.
Ole married Alta McCrimmon in Wheaton, MN in 1960. She passed away on February 8, 1997.
Ole then married Laura Ronnei-Larson on September 5, 1998 at West Moe Lutheran Church in Brandon, MN. They wintered in Mesa, Arizona and spent summer months at Laura’s home in Brandon, MN.
He loved playing cards especially whist, pinochle and cribbage. He was a happy-go-lucky guy and a wheeler and dealer when it came to finding bargains.
He is survived by his wife Laura; step children, Ron (Lani) Larson of St. Francis, Steve (friend Linda Kaner) Larson in Farwell; step-daughter-in-law, Pam Larson of Kensington and 5 step-grandchildren; brothers, Maurice (Ardis) Dosdall of Paynesville, Merle Dosdall of Mesa, AZ, Harold Dosdall of Huntsville, AL and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents,; first wife, Alta, and step-son, Bruce Larson.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with Reverend Sarah Evenson officiating.
