Patricia Ann (Pat) Flynn, 85, of Alexandria, MN, and formerly of Grand Forks, North Dakota, died February 19, 2008 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria. Pat was born on November 15, 1922 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rose and Edward Cunney. She grew up in Drexel Hill, a suburb of Philadelphia, and graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1940. She married William R. Flynn of Grand Forks, ND, on August 10, 1946 in Philadelphia, having met him while he was stationed at an army facility near Philadelphia. They initially lived in Manvel, North Dakota, and later in Grand Forks, ND, residing there for 44 years. Her husband, Bill, died June 23, 1977 at the age of 54. Pat was very active in her church, Altar Society, and her children's school activities. She loved playing bridge and whist, enjoyed dancing and playing with her grandchildren. She was very proud of her 100% Irish heritage. Pat was a full-time homemaker, canned many vegetables from the family farm, enjoyed knitting, sewing and collecting dolls. She loved to shop, especially for her grandchildren and her home. She especially loved when all her children and grandchildren were together. She will be dearly missed. Pat is survived by her children: Patricia Flynn, Vancouver, Washington, Bill (Janet) Flynn, Peggy Flynn, all of Minneapolis, and Pam (Al) Godfrey, Alexandria; 11 grandchildren: Josi, Soraia, Bill, Andy, Ben, Joe, Ted, Will, Mike, Shawn, and Annie; and one great grandson, Malik. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, parents and four siblings, Rosemary, Peggy, Ed, and Joan. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 21, from 9-11 am with a Parish Prayer Service at 9:30 am from the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will also be held on Friday, February 22 from 5-7 pm from the Amundson Funeral Home in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 23, at 11:00 am from the St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Grand Forks Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery of Grand Forks. Arrangements were with the Amundson Funeral Home, Grand Forks and Anderson Funeral Home, Alexandria.
