Patricia Laughter

Patricia Irene Laughter Patricia was born on November 1, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Mosby) Lloyd. She attended school and then married Herbert Holmberg on July 15, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN. Together they had four children Debra, Karl, Eugene, and Karen. Pat and her family resided in Brooklyn Park, MN where she was a homemaker, a nurse and a computer operator for the city of Saint Anthony. On December 21, 1997 Pat married Virgil Laughter at their home in Minneapolis. She retired in 2000 and then moved to Brandon, MN. Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a great cook and never let anyone leave her home hungry. Pat redecorated her home many times. She was never afraid of taking any project on by herself, from putting in a fireplace in her living room, to wallpapering her daughters room or to painting many rooms in her home. Writing letters and sending cards to her grandchildren on birthdays, holidays and when someone was feeling down showed Pat?s endless kindness and compassion. She had a good sense of humor, loved animals especially dogs and enjoyed watching the MN Twins and the Vikings. Pat had a saying that she instilled in her family which was ?Everyone Deserves to be Happy?. Patricia I. Laughter died on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN at the age of 72 years old. She is survived by her husband Virgil Laughter of Brandon, MN; children Debra (David) Mason of Hastings, MN; Karl (Dorine) Holmberg of Princeton, MN; Eugene (Terri) Holmberg of Minneapolis, MN; Karen (Marty) Root of Alexandria; 13 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Virginia (Edward) Roth of Brooklyn Center, MN; Janice Gaslin of Minneapolis, MN; nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sister. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Alexandria with the Reverend LeRoy Scheierl officiating. Kim Byrne and Elise Kronberg provided the music. Interment was in St. Ann?s Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Patricia?s grandsons Jeremiah Holmberg, Aaron LeMay, Evan Holmberg, Brian LeMay, Charles Holmberg, Russel Connery, Erik Root, and Cory Root. Honorary Casket Bearers were Patricia?s granddaughters Marta Lien, Karley Holmberg, Lauren LeMay, Madelyn Connery, and April Root.
