Peter Israel Rhodes was born on November 5, 1947, in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of Edward and Myrtle (Savoy) Rhodes. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1965 and furthered his education at Alexandria Technical College receiving a Degree in Accounting. Peter started working at KCMT Television Station while he was going to High School and later received a license in communications. Peter served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army and was a Communication Specialist. After returning home from the War Peter went back and worked for KCMT television. On June 12, 1986, Peter was united in marriage to Linda Tvrdik in Niagara Falls. He worked at the TV station until 1996. Peter then worked at Bethany Home for a few months building the Alzheimers Unit. In 1997, he went to work for the Douglas County Sheriff Office Dispatch until January of 2010. During this time he also had his own side business from 2000-2010 where he did home inspections. Peter loved going to the movies, music, playing softball, bowling and going on vacations. He was also a great cook and enjoyed grilling. Peter died on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Linda; sons: Timothy of St. Cloud, Scott (Laura) of Zimmerman; grandchildren: Connor, Maggie, Mila, and Anya; sister, Norma Weiderich of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4, 2014, 2:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Military Honors by American Legion Post #87 and VFW Post #936.
