Priscilla (Dimick) Thompson was born January 18, 1942 in Barron County, WI, the daughter of Richard and Florence (Fornell) Dimick. Cilla was raised on the family farm and graduated from high school at Barron, WI.

Cilla continued her education at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis. While studying there she met Dennis Thompson, a fellow student. Following their graduation, on May 26, 1962 Cilla and Dennis were united in marriage in Cumberland, WI. The couple lived in St. Cloud, MN where Dennis continued his education. They moved to Minneapolis where they raised their family. Cilla worked for thirteen years as a claims clerk for Social Security.
