OBITUARY Ralph Warren Larson was born, on a Leap Year, February 29, 1920 to Alma and Ole Larson in Elbow Lake, Minnesota. It was in Elbow Lake that Ralph received his public education, graduating as Valedictorian in 1937. On January 7, 1942, he volunteered for the United States Army. He became First Sergeant under General George S. Patton in the Third Army during WWII. December 22, 1942, Ralph was united in marriage to Alberta Pauline Haugen also of Elbow Lake. The day after their wedding Ralph was called into active duty in Europe. He served in the European Theater for three years until November 29, 1945. After World War II, Ralph and Alberta moved to Alexandria, Minnesota. Ralph was employed by Hustad Implement. He worked there for 37 years selling machinery and as parts manager. Alberta and Ralph were members of First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. He enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends, wintering to Arizona and helping organizing Army reunions. Ralph was a member of the American Legion for 60 years and Golden K?s in Alexandria. Ralph W Larson age 93, of Alexandria, passed away at Knute Nelson Nursing Home, on Friday, April 19, 2013. Ralph is lovingly remembered by his daughter Kay (Glen) Beckett, son Mark (Linda) Larson, his 3 grandchildren Tim (Holly) Larson, Ann (Anthony) Schiller, Stephen Larson and 6 great grandchildren Benjamin, Lucas, Hannah, Logan, Carter and Landon. He was preceded in death by his wife Alberta and son Larry. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. A visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be at West Elbow Lake Cemetery following the luncheon. Pallbearers are Benjamin Larson, Brad Larson, Cindy Larson, Jerry Larson, Paul Lundeen, and Richard Lundeen Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria www.andersonfuneral.net
