OBITUARY Randy Harold Fischer, the son of Harold and Ardys Fischer, was born in Glenwood, MN on December 26, 1955. Randy graduated from Villard High School in 1973 and then served his country enlisting into the United States Marine Corps for four years. Randy met the love of his life, Janet Hoppe, while in the Marine Corps. Together they were united in marriage on April 7, 1979 at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. They worked hard and traveled around the country until they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Boone and Mitch. Randy?s motto in life was God, Family, and Country. He lived his life by working hard and playing hard. He always kept busy and made a point to finish what he had started. Randy frequently could be found in his shop, building or working on something. He loved God and taught his sons to believe and be faithful to God. Randy proudly served his country. The time he spent in the United States Marines, helped shape his personality and drive in life. In the words of Randy?s sons ?He was the best Dad anyone could have.? Randy always put his family first. He tried to set a good example for his boys as well as teach them good life skills. He enjoyed the many hunting, fishing, and family trips with his wife and sons that were taken throughout the years. Randy was passionate about what he did in the real estate business. He took pride in making a difference in the lives of others by helping them find the perfect home for their families. He was also active in helping others to make this a better community. Randy H. Fischer died on Monday, November 18, 2013 in Hangzhou, China while on a business trip with his wife and close friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Fischer of Alexandria; sons Boone and Mitch Fischer both of Alexandria; mother Ardys Fischer of Alexandria; brothers Rick (Robin) Fischer of Villard, MN; Ron (Alida) Fischer of Alexandria; Roylie (Shiela) Fischer of Alexandria; sister Tammy Fischer of Devils Lake, ND; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Fischer in 2001. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 11AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7PM at Zion Lutheran Church and also for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Alexandria Area Community Foundation for the Randy Fischer Legacy Fund.
