Raymond Henriksen

Raymond Bennet Henriksen was born on July 21, 1924 in Alexandria, Minnesota to David and Caroline (Hall) Henriksen. He attended the Alexandria Public Schools through the eighth grade. On July 14, 1946 Raymond was united in marriage to Helen Barros at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria. To this union they were blessed with three boys. Raymond worked for Land O? Lakes starting in maintenance. He then attended classes to earn an engineering license. Land O? Lakes transferred him to Mountain Lake, Milaca and Roseville. Raymond worked for Land O? Lakes for 41 years retiring in 1986 as the Vice President of Operations. They moved back to Alexandria in 2006. Raymond loved hunting, fishing and spending time at the family cabin on Lower Mission Lake in the Brainerd Area. Raymond and Helen enjoyed traveling to Norway, Sweden, Cayman Islands and across the U.S. Raymond died on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Helen; sons Don (Kathy) Henriksen of Bismarck, ND, Gary Henriksen of Lakeville and Alan (Shannon) Henriksen of Zimmerman; grandchildren Matthew, Kimberly, Shelby, Justin, Jake, Will, Jeremy and Christopher; great-grandchildren Mallory, Drew, Sydney, Owen and Logan; sisters Phyllis (Lamont) Mounsdon of Alexandria and Doris Christiansen of Alexandria; sister-in-law Maxine Henriksen of Maple Grove; and many nieces and nephews. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents David and Caroline; sister Alda Dau; and brothers Harry and Milton. A funeral service was held on Saturday May 2, 2009 at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Sherry Billberg officiating. Music was provided by organist Randy Morken and soloist Patrick Kalina. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Casket bearers were Raymond?s grandchildren Matthew Henriksen, Kimberly Henriksen, Shelby Henriksen, Justin Henriksen, Jake Henriksen, Will Henriksen, Jeremy Henriksen, and Christopher Henriksen. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
