R’Dell dedicated over 30 years to her career at the Lowry State Bank, earning the admiration of colleagues and customers with her dedication and warmth. She retired in 2000, leaving behind a legacy characterized by hard work and kindness.
A devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, R'Dell's unwavering faith and commitment to her community were evident throughout her life. On March 12, 1960, she married LeRoy "Bud" Molander. They began their family life in an apartment above Bud's International Harvester dealership before moving to their new home on Drury Avenue in Lowry, where they shared over 40 wonderful years together.
R’Dell and Bud had a passion for Quarter Horses and raised them on their property on the western edge of Lowry. R’Dell held various positions within the Minnesota Quarter Horse Association. She owned horses and competed in halter at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress and World Quarter Horse shows. She cherished the friendships she formed within the horse community and maintained those connections even after ceasing horse ownership.
Following Bud's passing in 2011, R'Dell exhibited remarkable strength and grace, finding joy in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as in the simple pleasures of life.
R’Dell was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Shirley and brother Jim. She is survived by her brother Dale (Vida) Kalina of Evanston IL, sister Dawn (Mike) Phillips of Morehead MN and sister-in-law, Julane Kalina of Marysville, Ohio.
She is survived by her two loving sons and their families: Steve and Kristine (Riekmann) Molander of Rogers, Minnesota, and Jeff and LaDona (Anderson) Molander of Fort Collins, Colorado. Her grandchildren include Katie (Steve Day) Molander of Maple Grove, MN; Anna (Dan) Malone of Excelsior, MN; Krislyn Molander of Fort Collins, CO; Ryan (Olivia) Molander of Kansas City, MO; and Reed (Catie) Molander of Jacksonville, FL. R'Dell was also blessed with two great-grandchildren Colton (Reed and Catie) Molander and Cora (Katie and Steve Day) Molander-Day.
In her final years, R'Dell relocated to Fort Collins, where she appreciated the beauty of the mountains and the close proximity to Jeff's family. Despite her declining health in late 2024, she maintained her independence, exemplifying her resilient spirit.
R'Dell’s life was a testament to love, faith, and family. Her warmth, strength, and gentle humor touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
