Reuben Ringdahl

Reuben Christopher Ringdahl was born on September 23, 1921, in Holmes City Township the son of Leonard and Sophy (Christopher) Ringdahl. He was baptized at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church on April 3, 1923. Reuben attended District #29 grade school in Holmes City. Reuben served his country during World War II and was stationed over in Japan. He was Honorably Discharged on October 18, 1946. After serving his country Reuben returned to Minnesota where he and his brothers farmed. In the 1960?s Reuben and his brother, Art did some work for the railroad in North Dakota. Reuben and his brothers had a band and played for barn dances and town dances. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and was a true Twins fan! Mr. Ringdahl died on Monday, November 8, 2010 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home. He is survived by his niece, LaVelle (Orlin) Blade of Holmes City; four great nieces and nephew: Annette Blade of Holly, MN, Pam (Larry) Buttke of Sioux Falls, SD, Debbie (Tony) Johnson of Alexandria, Brad (Allison) Rutten of Sartell, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard & Sophy; six brothers: Raymond (Hazel), Clifford, Albert, Theodore, Arthur & Victor; sister, Minnie; nephew DelRay Ringdahl. Funeral services were held on Friday, November 12, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church with Rev. Denise Croskey officiating. Pallbearers were David Fahlin, Tom Rensink, Darrin Weisel, Lloyd Flaaten, Nash Anderson, Wayne Anderson. Burial was at the Oscar Lake Cemetery in Farwell Township.
