Richard Jerome Reichmann was born on December 25, 1941, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Henry and Mavis Reichmann. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Villard, Minnesota. Richard graduated from Villard High School in 1959 and continued operating the family farm with his parents.
On September 28, 1963, Richard was united in marriage to Bonnie Oeltjen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Villard. Shortly after Richard and Bonnie were married, they took over the dairy farm and raised four children: Wendy, Ginene, Michael, and Wade. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and card games with family, friends, and neighbors. He loved watching sports and frequently attended sporting events of all his children/grandchildren. He also enjoyed going for drives with Bonnie to see the fall colors, as well as watching ships enter/exit the harbor in Duluth.
Richard passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Hopkins, Minnesota, at the age of 73. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie; children: Wendy (Larry) Gaffaney of Villard, Minnesota, Ginene (David) Theisen of Alexandria, Minnesota, Michael (April) Reichmann of Watertown, South Dakota, Wade Reichmann of Cambridge, Minnesota; grandchildren: Paige Gaffaney, Jill (fiancANLGAC. Kevin Razink) Gaffaney, Zachary (Ashley) Larson, Cody Larson, Haley Larson, and Luke Theisen; siblings Joyce Tix and Cleo (Vern) Koppleman; many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mavis Reichmann; sister Audrey Peper; and brother-in-law Lou Tix.
A funeral service was held on Friday, January 9, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alexandria, Minnesota. Interment was held at Lake Leven Cemetery in Villard, Minnesota.
