Robert Fredrick Forster was born on April 25, 1939, in Minneapolis, MN to Alfred and Doris (Hodge) Forster. He attended school through the 8th grade in Minneapolis. For 30 years, Robert worked setting up for banquets at the hotel in the IDS Center.
Robert was united in marriage to Victoria Tuey on April 24, 1967, in Minneapolis. The couple made their home in Brooklyn Center. They were blessed with two daughters, Barb and Sue. Robert and Victoria moved to Alexandria in 1998, to be closer to their daughter, Sue. He worked for a short time at Elden’s.
Robert enjoyed riding bicycle, fishing, bowling, and playing cards, especially kings corner and rummy. He loved his donuts and bismarks. After payday, he enjoyed treating himself to another favorite, chicken chow mein. Robert was a very good practical joker and had a great sense of humor. He will also be remembered for giving really good hugs.
Robert died on Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Harmony House in Brainerd at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, Victoria Forster of Alexandria; daughters, Barb Forster of Baxter and Sue (Jason) Hamre of Kensington; grandchildren, Ashley Carlson, Robert Carlson, Gunner Thompson and Brittany Thompson; great-grandchildren, Layla Byrnes, Wyatt Carlson, Bryer Carlson, Harper Thompson and Camden Baier; brother-in-law, Orville Anderson of White Bear Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Doris; sisters, Jane Cassbolt and Joyce Anderson.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at New Life Church in Alexandria. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
