Robert LeRoy was born on December 23, 1933, in Excelsior, Minnesota the son of Roy and Ethel (Radvenz) Koch. He graduated from Shakopee High School in 1951. Robert was united in marriage to Marlene Peterson on September 7, 1957, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins. To this union four children were born. The Koch family resided in Shakopee where Bob worked as a Telecommunications Tech for AT&T for 34 � years retiring in November of 1991. He was self-employed for the last years of his career. He was an active member of St. John?s Lutheran Church in Shakopee. Bob and Marlene enjoyed bowling and playing cards. They enjoyed dancing with friends at various ballrooms as well. He is known for his love of gardening including vegetables and fruit trees both at home and at a local fruit tree arboretum. In 2005, the couple moved to Alexandria. Robert died on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marlene; sons: Michael (Pam) of Conroe, TX; Greg (Wendy) of Eagan; Terry (Bill) Koch-Menge of Lenexa, KS; Noreen (Dale) Koch-Myer of Lakeville, MN; grandchildren: Jarrett, Benjamin, Russell, Abigail, Landon, Alex; sister, Marlene Luedloff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Ethel and his brother, Ronald. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014, 12:00 PM with funeral services following at 1:00 PM at First Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN.
