ROBERT (BOB) MOHAWK Robert Mohawk was born on June 4, 1932 in Rochester, MN the son of Floyd and Agnes (Helgerson) Mohawk. Bob grew up in Chatfield, MN, where he graduated from high school in the Class of 1951. During high school, Bob was a star football player wearing #42 in the backfield. He ran track and field and was a Golden Gloves boxing champ. He loved to hunt and fish. Bob began working construction after high school and quickly became one of the most sought after lathers for commercial building in the area. On August 9, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Lois Postier of Rochester, MN. Six children were born to the couple. The family moved to Alexandria in 1958 where Bob continued working in construction. Bob was a hardworking man with a kind heart. He was a great dad, who taught his children to work hard, be strong, and enjoy life. Bob continued to hunt and fish as long as he was physically able. Both Bob and Lois loved their hunting and fishing trips. Lois passed away on February 13, 1995. Bob married Vivian Martin Hebl on March 4, 2003 in Las Vegas, NV. Together they liked to travel, go to casinos, and people watch at local malls. Bob was known to his family as a ?Tough old Bird?, because of his many health problems he had over the years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Robert Mohawk died on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 79. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and first wife Lois Mohawk. He is survived by his wife Vivian; Mohawk children: Randy (June), Rollie (Connie), Renee (Sid), Russ (Diane), Rozan (Jerry), and Rick (Teresa); Hebl children: Dawn (Jim), Jim (Carol), Vicky (Jed), Billy (Jill), Philip (Brenda), Donnie, and Bob (Laurie); 33grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren. Bob was also survived by his wonderful brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Carol and George Rebehl and their children Greg (Hana), Lee (Ellen), and Scott (Laurie); favorite niece Lynn. A funeral service was held on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria. Interment was held in the Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
