Robert Joseph Peacock, forever known simply as ?Bud? to his family and friends passed away on his 85th birthday, February 17, 2008 while at home in Carlos Minnesota in the presence of his loving family. Bud was born to Benjamin Franklin and Anna (Weisgram) Peacock in Belle River Minnesota, on February 17, 1923. He enlisted in the United States Navy in WWII, where he served throughout the Pacific as a? Cruiser Man? aboard the USS Santa Fe until the end of the war. Afterward, he returned to Minnesota and trained as a mechanic. He and his brother ?Ben? owned and operated the Shell Service station in Osakis Minnesota. Bud later purchased the partnership from his brother, and later sold the service station in 1967. He then worked construction in the Twin Cities until 1972. He began working for The Alexandria Technical School in Building Maintenance until he retired in 1985. After retirement, Bud and his wife, Glenda, ran a small business maintaining lake homes in the Alexandria area. Bud?s love of life, family and home, and his ability to find joy in each and every day touched and enriched the lives of all who knew him. Bud enjoyed playing cards, woodworking, bowling, hunting and fishing. As for his family members and friends, we will mostly miss his great ability to tell a good story and make us laugh out loud.
