Robert “Bob” Pederson, age 79, of Alexandria, formerly of Miltona, died Saturday, February 14, 2015. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos, MN. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria and also one hour prior to the service at church.
OBITUARY
Robert Bruce Pederson was born August 30, 1935 in Osakis MN, the son of Marvin and Irene (Pearson) Pederson. He grew up in Osakis where he graduated from high school. A few months later Bob joined the United States Air Force.
On December 21, 1955 Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy Schuneman at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Carlos. Bob was stationed at various bases in the United States and around the world. He served in Saudi Arabia, Japan, Texas, Alaska and Thailand. After serving his country for over twenty years Bob retired from the Air Force. He returned to Minnesota where he and Dorothy made their home in Spicer. Bob took up insurance sales and investments as a second career. After retiring from sales, Bob and Dorothy moved to Miltona, MN. Most recently the couple has been residents of Alexandria, MN.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors and liked to go fishing and hunting with his family. He made several trips out west with his son to go hunting. Bob was also an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins and the Minnesota Vikings. Bob was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
On Saturday, February 14, 2015 Bob died at the age of seventy-nine years. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Pederson of Alexandria; son, Bret Pederson and wife, Angie, of Alexandria; daughter, Kimberly Deniswicz and husband, Mark, of Port Washington, WI; grandchildren, Chanse Pederson, Cassidy Pederson, Kayla Deniswicz and Mitchell Deniswicz; brothers, Gary Pederson of Bandon, OR, Doug Pederson and wife, Liz, of Minneapolis and Tom Pederson of Prior Lake, MN; and sister, Barbara King and husband, Harold, of Rockford, IL.

Casket bearers include Bret Pederson, Chanse Pederson, Bob Schuneman, Mark Schuneman, Paul Twite and Rick Pearson. Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 235, American Legion Post 87, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 936 and the Minnesota National Guard.
