Robert Edward Peters was born on August 2, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Gisella (Meyer) Wozniak. After graduating from high school he joined the United States Air Force and served his country for four years. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force he started working at Sears, Roebuck and Company, and then Euro Electronics (an electronics company owned by his Mother and Step Father). He later worked for Polk Brothers, Sony and Zenith.
For twenty-five years Robert was married to Lilian Peters. This union ended, but was blessed with three sons, Leon, John and Glen. In 1984 Robert married Nadine Blech in Fox Point, Wisconsin.
Robert studied, taught, and loved music. He played the accordion and trumpet. He once said that he wished that music could have been his life's work. When he wasn't busy working or sharing his musical talent, he could be found any time of the year fishing. He also enjoyed hunting deer, pheasant, and duck. His wife Nadine was a master gardener and he enjoyed helping her tend their many gardens.
He was the neighborhood Santa that everyone loved when they resided in Chanhassen. There he also started a "Take A Kid Fishing Derby" in his neighborhood which remains active to this day. He was a leader, a teacher to many and always had good advice. He enjoyed thirteen years serving on the Douglas County Sheriff's Department Posse, helping and serving his community.
