Robert (Bob) Stob journeyed into his new life with Jesus on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 9:20 p.m. with family by his side. He suffered complications due to a fall at a hospital.

Bob was born June 20, 1937 to Tom and Mildred (Werder) Stob in Raymond, Minnesota. Growing up fishing and hunting with his dad, sister (Deanna), brother (Ken), and great friends were some of Bob’s great memories. Bob was confirmed in St. John’s Lutheran Church. He graduated from Raymond High School in 1955, which is also the year he became an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa with a degree in mathematics. He taught school in Iowa for two years during which he was called for duty in the Army Reserves in the state ofWashington. During this time, Bob and Ruth were married in Tacoma; they were blessed with 52 years together.

Bob and Ruth moved to Alexandria in 1970, getting them into the “lakes area” and fishing. He worked for Alexandria Boat Works for 17 years; Bob and Ruth started Flags West flags and flagpoles in 1991.

Bob enjoyed watching his two daughters, Natalie and Nicole, grow up. He enjoyed watching their many sporting events and concerts, which kept him busy. He especially liked taking them along fishing. Bob enjoyed many years of fishing on Lake Le Homme Dieu as well as fishing in Canada and around Isle Royal National Park with special friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Ruth, daughters Natalie (Jason) Schneiderman of Maple Grove, Nicole (Phil) Vanderbilt of Boulder, Colorado, sister Deanna (Jerry) Lederer (St. Cloud), nieces Lisa (Geoff) Stiller, Michelle (Mark) Hume, Leah Stob and nephew Aaron (Johnna) Stob. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ken.
