Roger ?Skip? Vickerman was born on November 29, 1937, in Alexandria, Minnesota the son of William and Gloria (Black) Vickerman. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1955. After graduation he worked with his dad at the City Service Station and joined the National Guard where he served for two years. Roger was united in marriage to Sandra Engebretson in 1969. In 1976 the couple bought a farm where they raised hogs for a couple of years. They also owned a black topping business for thirty years and J&V Liquor for sixteen years which is now known as the Muddy Boot. Skip enjoyed hunting deer, bowling, golf, flowers, gardening and in later years cats. He was a member of the Elks and Eagles Club. Skip died on Sunday, August 12, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Sandy; daughters: Sherry Schanbachler of Florida, Dawn Utke of Detroit Lakes, MN, Julie & Travis Wilke of Detroit Lakes, MN; grandchildren: Stevie Schanbachler, Nathan Field, Jenna Field, Ty Wilke, Dalton Utke, Riley Utke; sister-in-law, Jill Engebretson; brother-in-law, Terry (Carol) Engebretson; nieces: Kendra Engebretson, Lauren Engbretson; nephew, Logan Engebretson. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Tammy; his parents, William & Gloria; brother, Gerald; brother-in-law, Chuck Engebretson. Memorial service was held on Thursday, August 16, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home. Urn Bearer was Logan Engebretson and Honorary Urn Bearers were Randy Vickerman, Tom Navratil, Jerry Patrick, Brent Patrick, Brad Patrick, Chad Patrick.
