Romaine Anderson

Romaine James Anderson was born on January 3, 1929, near Hoffman, MN, the son of Herman and Elfei (Nelson) Anderson. He was baptized in Wennersborg Lutheran Church by Pastor Carl Zaar and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church by Pastor Sheldahl. He attended elementary school in Douglas and Grant counties and also a year at an agriculture school in Morris, MN. Romaine married Gladys Tuel Koep. He worked construction in Minneapolis and surrounding areas and also as a maintenance man at the Holiday Inn in Alexandria for several years. Romaine ?Bud? enjoyed fishing and especially liked gardening and taking care of his lawn. He watched the ?Wheel of Fortune? daily and methodically read the Pioneer Press and Echo Press to keep with his current events. Romaine J. Anderson died on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 80 years. He is survived by Sharon and Darrell Klimek of Alexandria; Romelle Anderson and friend James Hohn of Farwell, MN; 3 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters Helen and Dale Velasco of Downers Grove, IL; Elfie and Robert Knox of Geneva, IL; Rosemarie Hanson of Hoffman, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Gladys Anderson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. A memorial service was held on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dale Olson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Wennersborg Cemetery in the spring. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Romaine?s nieces and nephews. Anderson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.andersonfuneral.net
