Ronald Allan Kvam was born August 17, 1942 in Benson, MN, the son of Russell and Madelyn (Halverson) Kvam. He grew up in the Glenwood area and attended school in Glenwood. Ronald farmed and worked as a mechanic. He served many of the area farmers as a farm implement and tractor mechanic. Ronald would repair all makes of tractor but was partial to Internationals. In November 1966 Ronald was united in marriage to Lorraine Nyhusmoen. The couple lived in Lowry where they were blessed with one child, Janice. Ronald enjoyed collecting unique tools and old toys. He liked attending car shows and threshing shows. He also enjoyed parades and driving his tractors. Ronald was a woodworker and spent time doing woodworking projects in his shop. He was a life member of the Stearns County Pioneer Club. On November 24, 1979 Ronald was joined in marriage to Joyce Graunke. They made their home in Lowry and were blessed with two children, Ryan and Kayla. On Saturday, October 12, 2013 Ronald died at the age of seventy-one years. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Kvam of Lowry; two daughters, Janice Raaum and husband, Samuel, of Starbuck and Kayla Kvam of Starbuck; son, Ryan Kvam of Lowry; and grandchildren; Ross Raaum, Carroll Raaum and Kendra Dumke. A funeral service was held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at St. Paul?s Lutheran Church in Lowry. Reverend Joe Skogmo officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Casket bearers included Ross Raaum, Carroll Raaum, Scott Fearing, Bob Baas, Curt Hoium and Dannie Schmidt. Honorary casket bearers included Kendra Dumke, Taylor Stoos, Angie Cramer, Kendra Cramer, Kylee Cramer, Bonnie Erickson, Judy Erickson, Shelly Leonard, and Jada Leonard.
